吉恩・蔡恩（Gene Zion，1913~1957），生于美国纽约，毕业于帕拉特学院。从小就立志成为一名画家，1936年获得了全美海报大赛第一名。先后从事过编辑、平面设计等工作，最终还是选择做一名自由作家。1948年迎娶了画家兼设计师的玛格丽特・布罗伊・格雷厄姆。随后，夫妇两人共同创作图画书。第一次与夫人合作的《全都倒下了》（All Falling Down）捧获1952年凯迪克奖银奖，其代表作有：《好脏的哈利》（Harry the Dirty Dog）、《哈利的花毛衣》（No Roses for Harry）、“小狗本吉”系列等。
